Eric Shilland, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
Dr. Shilland is double board certified in Family Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine by the AOBFP and AOBNMM. He graduated from the University of California at San Diego in 1995 with a B.S. in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience and received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, California in 2003. He served his internship at Eastmoreland Hospital in Portland, Oregon and completed his family medicine residency and OMM/NMM fellowship at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine. He worked as a family practice physician for Legacy Health Systems for six years before establishing Solace Health in 2013.
As a physician, Dr. Shilland believes in a “less is more” philosophy of medicine. Although viewing the prudent use of medicine as a necessity, he strives to maintain his patients on as few medications as possible. He puts great emphasis upon the physician-patient relationship, and values open, honest two-way communication. He prides himself on non-judgmental acceptance of lifestyle and identity and is often a good fit for patients who previously have had a difficult time being comfortable with the traditional medical community.
Dr. Shilland lives in the Sellwood neighborhood and enjoys spending his free time listening to live music, seeing local performing arts, cheering at Blazer and Timber games, snowboarding and dancing. His dogs happen to think he’s pretty cool, too!
